The current TOH project has it going in spades. If you are watching it, you may be as impressed as I am.
Seeing a completely-built mechanical room, complete with two water heaters, main electrical panels, etc., and then a kitchen pod complete with cabinets and microwave, everything ready to be trucked to the site and then flown into place, makes one question the way we’ve been working.

I saw one episode and was also quite impressed. You might like Dwell magazine, lot's of prefab stuff in there.
On the mega project I was working on in the Bahamas, they were planning on using pre-fab bathroom pods that made in a cast concrete box, each weighing 6 tons. Everything inside is finished and they come sealed, a rep. wil open the sealed door inspect and turnover after installation. They were going to come from Italy and we needed 2,000 of them.
