Hello All,
I’m currently installing some pre-finished 3/4″ t&g wood flooring. I have a couple of tricky spots that I had to frame around such as a “dog eared” tile front entry and the raised fireplace hearth. I cut the pre-finished boards to lenght/angle, then used my router with a t&g bit to make the male and female joints. My question is this, all of the pre-finished material has an eased edge, when I make a cut the edge isn’t eased anymore and with everything dry fit together you can feel the slight lip, if I round the edge with sand paper how do you finish the wood? Just brush a little polyurethane on the sanded edge? The other thing I’ve run into is a few small gaps between the boards, maybe 1/16″, am I suppose to use some type of wood filler? If so, does anyone have any suggested products/brands?

Yes

No--if you notice a discrepency while installing you can make a pile of the odd-width boards and use them for edge. Otherwise don't worry about it. Any filler would look bad initially and worse over time.

I've installed Mirage brand a few times. Very nicely milled but the pieces are just too short for my taste. As short as 6" and no longer than 42". Maybe other brands are different but I don't think so from stories I've heard.
