I would like to remove the “back splash” on the preformed 12-foot plastic laminate counter I can buy at Home Depot. I like the rolled front of the counter but don’t want the rolled back splash.
I have thought about using a router to remove the back splash or cutting it with a circular saw with a fine blade but I am concerned about chipping the surface. I would like the counter to fit smug against the wall. I’ll use a compass to fit the back of the counter to the wall after the rolled back splash is removed.
Suggestions are encouraged. Thanks

Hi Kerry,
The cutting part is easy. Any sharp saw blade with fine carbide teeth will do a clean job and you put masking tape down first and mark over it.
HOWEVER, when you cut the backsplash off you will be making the overall width narrower and will not fit on a standard cabinet.
