Saw the post below about removing old vinyl glue from plywood and I have the same problem, vinyl was glued from wall to wall. Guy at the tile store told me to just put the cement board over the existing vinyl since I’m going to screw it anyway. Everything I read says to screw and glue the backerboards so I’m questioning his advice. Same guy also told me that 1/4″ Hardiboard is equalivent to 1/2″ durock. Is this guy right of full of it??
