I’m considering replacing a clay/cement tile roof with copper. There’s some termite damage also to replace. What do you have to do with the deck to prepare it for copper? Given that the current deck is put down with steel nails, how do you isolate them from the copper?
The copper will only be on a small decorative section of 7-in-12 roof at the front of the building, 3 squares. There’s 14 squares of flat roof behind that, which isn’t seen from below. Any suggestions for a long-lasting material for that, that’s compatible with copper? They’d meet at a ridge.
