While reading thru some of the other posts regarding finishing a basement, I noticed some people mention not to use PT lumber for framing basement walls (not even bottom plates). I think someone mentioned concerns with the toxins from the wood (preservatives) in an enclosed space.
How big of a deal is this? I’ve never heard of it before. Has anything actually been published on this? I’ve set up shop in my basement and have built a couple of benches using pt 4×4’s and 2×4’s (only because it was free and I had plenty of it). I’m planning on putting up some walls along the foundation, and expect to use more PT.
