I’m curious to know if any of you guys have ever used a pressure washer to remove stains from wood. The reason I ask is because I’ve responded to a few posts(one was today) concerning stained wood and I’ve offered my suggestion. I’ve used it alot and I will never again try to sand to remove water stains, dirt or weathering. It’s clean, fast, easy, and it works on any kind of wood (I sound like an infomercial “it’s clean, fast, easy and for only $19.95…”). I had an old unfinished oak coffee table with all kinds of stains including water stains from glasses. I took it out in the back and within 10 minutes the entire top surface looked like new. Just wondering if anyone else tried this.

My house is sided with cedar boards. The previous owner never applied anything to the siding for years. I used a fence wash on the sidding and the place looked really great. Many of the nail stains were gone or reduced to a good degree. I liked the product.
I used a "shortened" 4 inch paint brush to apply the wash. The brush was stiff enough to get the crud out of the wood and cracks but not stiff enought to damage the wood. Presure washing can beat the wood up.
*I have done it by accident while pressure washing other things, noticed it cleaned up good . Never thought to try it for real though.
