Hi,I thought Id get some other opions on preventative measures in stopping long term rusting .I have a chlorine swimming pool thats covered, the supporting post are hot dipped Galv posts and they are in the ground encased in a concrete pad.The columns often get wet. Any suggestions im happy to remove the paving around and coat? Thanks

Build columns around the posts. Wrap them with tyvek, then vinyl siding, then $1500 worth of caulking. OK, just kidding. But boxed columns might work, built out of straight-grain clear fir. I think there's another thread on some different construction details for boxed columns.
