I have had problems with grout cracking in most all of the houses we have built in the past 3 years. The tile was laid on durock, modified grout was used, and in some cases, an additive was also mixed with it. Cracking does not show up on tile installed on the walls or tile laid on concrete. The problem only occurs on tile laid on 3/4″ advantec with pre-manufactored floor joist. Our floors deflextion rate is rated higher than what is recomended. I would like to talk to anyone who has seen this problem before.
