I'm not familiar with any continuing problems at all...only that CR reported that Viking's new model of their hi-end range has a problem with the oven turning off after an hour or so. Happened with a couple units of the same model. Their previous model that his replaced was top-rated.
I've got a 6-burner Viking drop in cooktop, zero complaints.
Do some basic research regarding gas ranges, and search the archives over at FCooking. Most every unit can easily be adapted from natural gas to LP, albeit at an approximate 10% loss in rated BTU output.
What price range/features are you looking at?
*I've never had a problem with any natural gas stoves converted to run on propane. I've never had problems with any of the boilers I've converted either. I think the key is to stick to a reputable brand, and specify that this will be a propane installation.m.
*I have a 60" Imperial restaurant range, propane model. Runs great on LP, though the pilot flames are a little uneven.SHG
