The flat roof is 25’x 36′. It is covered with four EPDM sheets of 25′ x 10′. After the first sheet was glued down, a termination bar was screwed down along the edge that was about to be covered with the next sheet.
Stunningly, the seams were not well detailed and leaked. The roof needs replaced, but I was asked to band-aid it to buy some time.
I laid a 12″ strip of rubber down over the seams.
In the pic, the left side is the strip of rubber I laid down. You can see the bump in the middle which is the pile of sealant(s) that was applied to the original seam edge. The darkened band is where white gas was used to clean the rubber prior to the lap sealant application.
Just inside the right edge of the darkened band you can see the bumps from the screws.
It was wrong of me, but when I first realized what had been done I laughed loud and long with the customer right up there with me. Fortunately, he had just bought the house.

Was there a question built into this? or just sharingthe observation that termination bars are for terminatiopns instaed of laps? The dimension of th ebar madde iot impossible to get the lap glued right

No question. I got a good laugh over it and thought others might also.I don't really understand this:"The dimension of the bar made it impossible to get the lap glued right"Rich BeckmanAnother day, another tool.
I mean that a termination bar is for when the membrane turns up a wall. The thihckness of it makes the hump and interferes with total contact of glue connection between plies of the membrane
