What do folks use (if anything) to track rental/income property transactions/financials etc? I just looked at the new Quicken Rental Property Manager and it seems to be a good tax prep tool – but it doesnt seems liek a lot else. Also – it isnt clear which other quicken products it exports to. I read some of the feedback in the user forum and it was thoroughly panned. I was wondering if anyone here has any input on that product or any others.

We do ours on plain old Quicken. It has a section for property management although not as in depth as some programs designed just for the purpose. DanT

I have been a full time investor/landlord for about 30 years and struggled with the same problems. When Quicken came out it took some time to set up but I have used it ever since on our properties. I too looked at many others but they all seemed targeted at the big players and not for us mom & pops.
If you get a handle on classes and sub classes and categories and subcategories you will have it mastered in no time.
