protecting ICF while pouting asphalt driveway

I have an ICF foundation and will be having an asphalt driveway being poured soon.
The garage floor is a 4″+ in slab and covers the ICF there.  I am concerned about how to protect the ICF on both sides of the garage door (about 20″ each) that will have the asphalt poured next to it.  Is metal flashing a sufficient barrier?  What is commonly done?
