   What the heck do you mean by "container load quantities"?

   Too many things to consider to give you an answer. Like your location. (affects shipping costs)And the volume. Anythin less than a truckload or rail car load, and you won't see much in the way of discounts.

   My suggestion would be to talk to you local lumberyard. Tell them what you want to do, and see what kind of offer they make. They'll cut you a deal if they don't have to break the bunks open, and maybe if you pay cash. I'm sure you'll have to deal with a lumberyard - Brokers only deal with them.

   That's what "container load" means, a freight container about the size of a semi-trailer that can be transported by truck, rail, or ship. The most common size is in the range of 8x8x20 feet.

   Container size is either 8x8x20 or 8x8x40. I would phone lumber yards myself, but I have no contact names or numbers, I am in Ireland, and am getting my syp about third hand. can anyone recomend suppliers on the east ?

   Telling us you were in Ireland to begin with probably would've helped.

   I'd still start at your local lumberyards. They may not help you directly, but they can tell you where they get lumber from, and their brokers might know someone who specializes in imports.

   Other than that, I have no idea how to help you from this side of the pond.

   You know when you're sitting on a chair and you lean back so you're just on two legs, then you lean too far and you almost fall over but at the last second you catch yourself? I feel like that all the time.

   I can get pt treated lumber here no problem, what I really want is southern yellow pine pt. which I am buying from somebody who is importing it by the container load. I am just trying to cut out some middlemen.

   Yes I read somewhere december 2003, so what is the alternative? and how much extra?

   The alternative is out but to be honest I cannot remember what chemicals are in it. Hence what name it is called.  From what I understand its about 25-45% more depending on geographical location.

   I think I just paid $5.89 for a 12' 2x6 SYP PT last week?

   It may have been a few cents more or less but it was around 6 US dollars.
