Ok, I know it is a stupid question, but if I am gluing white PVC to black ABS, which type of glue should I use?

The way I learned it, dissimilar plastics are treated just like dissimilar materials, with a coupling, like a neoprene or the like.
I'm no chemistry whiz, but it would seem chemically difficult to solvent weld two different plastics together. Might could be there's an epoxy that works, though.
I could be wrong, too.
you can buy a glue to preform this task look at a plumbing wholesaler if you cannt find it at ace or h.d.
pvc to abs transition cement is what you are looking for
Thanks. I found a product at HD called "ALL PURPOSE CEMENT" for PVC, ABS, and CPVC. Will this suffice? This is for a waste connection, so pressure is not an issue.

If possible, join two pieces of the different pipe with a fernco coupling/no hub coupling (rubber w/stainless band clamp). If not possible, get a can of the transition cement.
