I’d like to hear opinions on connecting PVC to CI waste line. I have a vertical run of PVC going down into the CI. So far the CI bell housing is intact. Should I simply insert it and pound in lead wool? Cut it off and use a rubber Fernco? Or how about those Fernco Donuts? I’d like to try a donut but don’t know of anyone who has tried one?

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
WOW!!! What a Ride!
Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!
I have used them often, no problems.
My dad was a plumber, he would have gotten his lead pop out and done a poured joint.
But that was him, I'd do the donut thing. Might have to use a bit of vaseline to have pipe slip.
Fernco Donut.
Clean up the CI real good and use lots of whatever they give you to seal the rubber to the CI.
