I need to size a radiator for the basement remodel I’m doing right now. Basement isn’t all that big roughly 24 x 20. It’s completely underground on one short side and one long side. About 75% under on the 2nd short side (One 40″x30″ window). The back side is walk out (although there is my work shop behind 75% of that wall) and has a single door 6′ x 30″ door. Live in MA just north of Boston.
I don’t think I need something huge and the Myson radiators give their output in BTU/hr so if I can figure a way to do this I should be able to see if I can get away with a single radiator or not.
Thanks

Well I don't know how your supply houses work in Boston but over hear in Seattle I can call my supplier "heating dept" give them the particulars like you listed plus the source "boiler" & they can size one in a couple of minutes usually. The engineers on my job sites that I deal with have given me the same response every time I asked the question no mater if it was a forced air or a boiler doing hydronics They say 29btu's per square foot. But You know an engineers wildest dream is always my worst nightmare.
I'd be surprised if your heat loss would be much more than 10kBTU/hr, but I think you'll be safe with 15kBTU/hr.
Let's see if someone has time to plug those numbers in.
