I got to cut a 52 degree cut, my miter saw only goes to 45. Can I made a 30 degree block and then cut a 22 degree?

Flip it and cut 38 degs.
yes. or flip it.
Brown,
If you ever have to make really steep cuts you can make a block jig up against the fence, and angle the material towards you. You can start the material at 45 or at 90 degrees to the fence. Always use a jig, and clamps if you can because it can be dangerous otherwise.(free cutting)
This is handy on trim work.
