I am remodeling my house and am changing from hot water to radiant heating(underfloor). My existing floor is 1/2″ base plywood (from original concrete forms)and 3/4″ particle board subfloor screwed to plywood.
>Does all this wood impede efficient heating?
>I was thinking about pulling up the particle board subfloor and screwing down durarock to act as a heat sink. I will be using a floating engineered wood floor and stone tiles to finish the floor. Is all of this neccesary?
>Is there any difference in performance using aluminum heat fins vs stapling up a foil backed membrane followed by insulation under the floor?
>Please let me know if you a radiant floor heating contractor
thanks chris s/Denver
