Why is it that many people won't use subfolders? Sorry Gaby - I had a hard day and that's my excuse for the baditude.
*vb - I am sure I have seen charts that show the relative stability of various species, so if you really want to know this, find one of those. VG Fir (have to bow my head when I say that) is dimensionally stable in extreme humidity fluctuations. The proof of this is that it is the material of choice for exterior doors and window sash. I doubt the conditions you subject your floor to will be any worse than 65 degrees on one side and -20 degrees on the other.
