After I remove the old flue pipe from it’s chase I’m thinking of sticking in a piece of DWV on spec in case I decide to do radon venting. I’m figuring a power vent scheme of some sort.
What size pipe is typically used for this? Two inch?
(Don’t want to use the existing flue pipe (even if that might somehow be “legal”) because I want to get back most of the room it’s taking. But there are some wires in the chase I need to leave room for, so a 2″ or so pipe won’t take any more space.)

3" is typically used, if one can say Radon venting is typically seen !
But, 2" with a power vent may be OK depending on the fan chosen. Search the internet for the fan first, then pick out the pipe.
BTW, the pipe needs to start below the basement slab.
