Slab got poured today for next project as last truck was leaving the sky opened up and it rained hard for five hours. I am looking for insight on what to expect when the project gets turned over to me. Thanks.

garsh.......... so... before it started raining ........
it got screeded ? it got a jitterbug on it ? it got a gas powered finish trowel ?
what ?
it got screeded and floated. took alot of rain before they were able to cover it up. I am under the impresion that they were able to power trowel during some lulls in the rain.
Mike it sounds like you have a rain drop finish?ML
It can't be good. We had one that got snowed on before it could be finished. I don't recall if it got trowelled once or not, but anyway it was pretty soft when they had to pull the blanket tarps on it. Looked like the surface of the moon after it had set up. We later hired a concrete grinder to come and sand it in the end. It turned out all right (it was covered by finish flooring). You'd want to grind it before you frame a house on it, if possible.
What's going to happen is that the surface upon curing will tend to flake off revealing a rougher surface below.

If they power troweled it with water standing on the slab,... it's gonna be ugly. Like tying to finish with bleed water still coming up,... the finish is screwed.
