I’m detailing a rain screen for a renovation of a beach house with vertical T&G cedar. The house now has problems with window leaks and wind driven rain at various locations. The owners would like to keep the vertical siding. Based upon the March 2001 FHB article and other reading I’ve designed a similar system, but am planning on using the 7/16″ cor-a-vent for horizontal furring/nailers to allow any water/moisture to drain downwards, and cdx plywood for furring at windows and doors.
Does anyone have any experience with this type of application?
