Has anyone ever used RainHandler eavetrough substitute? It’s like a set of 6 or so louvers that disperse rain falling from roof.
I’m considering using it on a porch since the rain being soaked into the ground will be far enough away from the house foundation (9ft) to not be a problem and the rain would do some good for the front yard.
What is the quality of the product like? Do leaves get caught up on it easily? Can it be painted to match fascia colour?
Thanks

I personally think its one of the dumbest inventions out there. How often do you get rain without wind? Wind driven rain will saturate the side of the house(porches too) which is what you are trying to prevent. Also leaves when they are wet act like papermache. They will stick and sag inbetween the 'louvers'. Look at products like gutter helmet they actually work suprisingly well.
I hadn't thought about the wind. Good thought, reinvent. The whole idea sounds kinda fishy too me but I am attracted by the idea of not having to put ugly eavetroughs over my fascia.
Might work ok on a low structure if you had enough overhang. Would still need to consider where the fallen water goes next.
I've been using RainHandler for 3 years now and been very happy with it. I'd suggest you check out the following thread:

You could probably find even more info by using the Breaktime Forum search engine.
