Hello all. I just received the plans for an addition I may build for clients of mine. Due to the locations of existing windows, the roof pitch for the new construction is very low, a 1.5 in 12. The architect speced a raised seam metal roof since asphalt shingles are out of the question. I thought the lowest we could go on metal was 3:12 pitch. Anyone have any experience here. If I could find a roofer to do this job, I wonder if he would guarantee it? Any advice would be appreciated.

Is the addition heated or is it a porch type structure? There are some situations where I will do standing seam roofs on less than 3/12. I do mostly custom fabricated copper. If you're talking about pre-fabbbed roof systems, the answer is in the manufacturer's spec's and they vary from brand to brand.
