you can either carefully pry the roof shingles up pulling the nails out - but only if the shingles don't crack in the pocess.
or cut the nails with hack saw blade and special handle designed for making cuts like that.
Not sure if Multi Masters have a metal cutting blade I'm sure they must, and I'm sure that tool would make short work of a task like that...hmmm maybe I should get one.
Use a flat bar and or a shingle hook, take the nails out
Asphalt or cedar shingles?
Cedar - use a ripper or cut along the top of the rake board with a metal blade of some sort.
Asphalt - lift and pull.
