I own a 100 year old 1 1/2 brick veneered house. At the moment it is painted white and is beginning to flake pretty bad. I was told that one of the reasons the paint is flaking is that since the house does not have any vapor barrier combined with the fact we now have a new gas furnace. Apparently the moisture is travelling through the brick and thus flaking the paint. Does this sound like it could be true? I also would like to re-paint the house a different colour. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks,Bill.
