Last issue of FHB. Stonework looked great, even if fake.
I can’t get past the windows.
There is no detailing around them. Set flush to face of wall.
Most I see are recessed 6″-8″ back.
Is it just me or do others notice that kind of stuff?
Suggestions on how to detail? 2×6 or 2×8 walls?
Maybe real stone……
Venting a bit.

Be some detailing to get it to work out.
And just imagine the flashing mistakes that could be made.

Exactly. I look at some of the stone structures around here, at least 100 yrs old... still in good shape.Build what you want within the confines of the shell.

My friend was a stone mason, He taught me how to have the stones stick out and vary so it did not look like the fake stone.Fake stone looks good but to me it just looks fake
I agree. It just seems easy to pick it out.
I'd almost rather do a Stucco finish, traditional hard coat.Mclaren
