could anyone tell if you buy two tools and get a rebate check for the cost of one or do you specify which free tool you want and they mail it to you?
I read the website and rebate form and couldn't tell.
karl
The rebate form indicates that you send it in and check which tool you want and they send it to you.Note that it sans battery and charger.
Thank you Bill,
I guess I was in too big a hurry as I read it.karl
I hung up on the battery thing myself, but the requirement of buying the first kit means that you will have a charger and two batteries anyway.Justin Fink - FHB Editorial
Looks like Milwaukee has a lot going on with their patented new battery technology.
You know of anything the other manufacturers are doing now to try to counter Milwaukee's obvious advantage?

What do you mean? what is the big advantage? I looked a while back and tracked the info on who was changing over to the new tech and also Makita has the 18v lithium.
Bosch is comming out and so is Dewalt. Let me know and I'll tell ya all I know/ found out.
I do want to find a thread on knee pads and when I do the serch I get zippo? give me a steer please.
Clay- I just typed in 'knee pads' and got 177 posts in the search response. Might want to try again. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
If you scroll down in the lower left corner of your screen there is an EZ search function that will take you to previous threads dealing with whatever you type in the search bar.
If you type in 'knee pads' hopefully it'll work.
Cheers

I tried the search and advanced search a couple of times. The delay in the responce from the server made me think somthing was up with? but I'll trysome more.
I had been using the site awhile back so I'm somewhat familier with it.
I did get the latest JLC issue and it had a big kneepads article/review. So I read up and said that just might cure the knee problem and ordered up 3 differnt types.
So far the tommy 707 are sweet, I'll do more hunting and see if I can pull up the search function to work better.
Got to get a lttle project out of the way and then I'll do more hunting/not Chaney style.
Also what's up with the milwakee? status.
It may be my imagination but it seems the EZ mode search in the lower left functions a better percentage of the time.
Sometimes if the search word is too common it might choke on you. In that case just define it a bit with an additional detail word.
Just seemed to be a lot of press of PR on the new Milwaukee battery system is all. More bang for the weight and the like.
be I really don't know

I don't have any experience with it but I was thinking when I saw the Makita line that they may have hit the sweet spot with the 18v.
And from what I read Dewalt was going to go for the bigger is better. I don't know about all that power cause you got to lug that stuff so I'd like to stick with stuff like the 14.4 bosch size.
As for the search I cued it up this am and got better results, yesterday it was ug? I got 88 results this time and I want to refine it to more recently.
Found a little more info as I was reading yesterday.

I'll give you one input on Knee Pads.
I bought five pairs of Bucket Boss pants (Look just like Skillers) that have the pockets that the knee pads slip into. I reccommend them. Very comfortable, don't have the problem with the sore spot from the straps of typical pads. Also don't get anywhere near the sweat problem. Another bonus is that they are always on, so you get protection on those ocassional kneel downs where you wouldn't have bothered putting on pads.
Might want something else if you are crawling around all day doing tile or something. But for everyday use the built in pads are great.
