I have alot of different brands here such as lenox from when they were mailing free samples, bosch mail in free samples, alot of milwaukee(esp. like the torch and ax blades that came with my sawzall) some cheapie black and decker and dewalt blades that you buy at the checkout counter of blowes and home desparate when you have 3 dollars left on your gift card… Oh, yeah-a couple of skil Ugly blades for pruning!
So what are your favoriteblades?

So far I would go with the Lenox every time, their hack-saw blades also get stars!

Another vote for Lenox. Also make good jig saw blades.
I discovered them about 1983 at an electrical supply house - can seem to get them everywhere now.
I must admit I bought a "package" deal from Bosch - mostly to get the roll-up case - now it's full of Lenox blades. I thought the Bosch blades were OK, but not as good as Lenox.
Milwaukee's blades while very sharp, seem brittle and snap too easily, Lenox will bend and can usually be straightened out for another shot.

Never underestimate the value of a sharp pencil or good light.
Lennox first, Bosch second

Not in MY neck of the woods.
I tried a few of the Bosch blades - usually I buy Milwaukee or Hilti.
I hit one obstruction and the blade bent like a New York pretzel. Hot, so I ejected and put in another. Same thing.
My gosh, Piff, I don't mind straightening them but the time it takes costs more than just getting a decent blade in the first place.Quality repairs for your home.

so get Lennox as 1st choice and leave the bosch as 2nd string..Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming<!----><!----><!---->

Milwaukee and lenox for me, just because that's what I usually buy. No complaints with either.
I started using lenox a few years back when there rep gave me several blades and love them there gold edge titanium blades seem to last a lot longer then DeWalt and Mill, etc. and there gold edge razor blades also get my fav choice they cost more but last twice as long +

I'm going to try cutting a 4" cast vent stack tomorrow with a Lennox blade made specifically for cast iron. I'll report back with results.
doubt it will work. i imagine it will still be cumbersome. use a chain type pipe cutter...
It should work, I have used a borrowed chain cutter but found it pretty da*n cumbersome in a tight crawlspace up next to a wall close to dirt (did dig out some). I have cut several with out any problem with other brands not made specifically for CI.
A while back you were going to attempt to cut a CI vent stack with a recip saw- how did that go? If well, could you give the blade type and Manufacturer?
Bubba,
It worked , but a lot slower than I thoght it would -- by the build up from the supplier.
It was a Lennox I believe with impregnated diamonds I think. That was over a year and a half ago so the memory is not perfect.
Lenox. They stay sharp longer than the Milwaukee blades, and they resist breakage like a champ.
