Does anyone else get black stained hands when building with redwood? Sometimes my palms are almost completely black. I’ve always figured it was a reaction to the tannins. Seems like just a point of curiosity, any technical info.?

I heard from a woodworker friend that if you smoke the weed and work with mahogany (and probably other tanniny woods) your hands will turn black.
When I worked in a pallet mill, I'd handle hundreds of feet of oak in a day, sopping wet, green oak. That and the steel from the machines and nails, ( and the weed) made for blue hands.
That PL Premium kinda permanent stain..we had them rubber dipped gloves but they made yer hands stink so bad, you'd choke on the weed..LOL

I'm offended, some of my best friends are lemons.
(Couldn't think of anything less sensical.)
Worked perfectly thanks. Should've asked about that years ago. Only problem was the juice got into the hole I excavated in my thumb today to remove a deep splinter.
