I am refinishing oak floors. There is a stain from cat urine that has soaked into the wood. After sanding the floors the stain marke is still there. What can I do to neutralize this stain when I refinish the floor?

If it didn't sand out there's not much you can do. I have tried oxylic acid to bleach pet stains out, and even by carefully dabbing the ox. acid on the stain alone, it bleaches out differently than the surrounding oak, and never totally disappears. It always looks blotchy. The best thing you can do is to cut out the offending boards, replace with new, and resand even with the rest. Make sure you get the proper oak(white or red) and tooth in(stagger) your strips and it should blend in pretty well.
Good luck, John
