Reflective wall covering behind wood sto
Hola! I need some ideas as to what kind of heat reflective wall covering I could use behind my wood stove. I have a wood stove in a corner setting with adobe walls that nicely absorb the heat – too much of it. I want that heat in my room. Would a heavy gauge aluminum work, or ??? Please tell me how to install – does it need to be spaced away from the wall, or directly on it, or ???

If you want the heat in the room then space the "shield" away from the wall and floor by a couple of inches...this will result in two additional surfaces off which to convect heat.
Sheet metal, hardiboard, tilebacker, barnmetal.... all will work. Porcelain electric fence insulators make good standoffs. Also short pipe nipples, copper tubing, angle braces, etc.

Thanks Iron Helix. I couldn't get this answer out of my helpful handy hardware man or anyone else for that matter. I'll give it a whirl!
Painted steel panels work quite well. The one in our hunting clubhouse is about 5 feet wide and runs floor to ceiling. Throws heat, especially with the heatilator blowing.
and there's a couple of different sized metal hat channels, available at most drywall supply places... Don't worry, we can fix that later!
