I am in the process of building a deck. I’m using pressure treated 2×6’s for the decking. Some of the boards have the grade, i believe, stamped on them. How do I remove this? Sanding? Bleach? I don’t want them to show when I stain it.

Circular pad on the drill takes them off.
'Course, turning the boards over so the stamps don't show is easier.
I've been putting the heart side up so (hopefully) the boards will crown instead of cup when they start to move. The stamps are sometimes on the heart side.
Problem with that in PT is the spoon sized slivers it throws into your feet.Any sander will take the marks off.

Yes, they sand off easily, but the OP should be aware that any sanded areas will take stain differently. Of course, the difference between any 2 boards could easily be greater than the difference between sanded and non-sanded areas, but it's still an aesthetic issue and something he should be aware of.
Uhm, maybe I'm dense, but how much penetration into PT lumber will a wipe/brush stain have?
I'm not coming up with a color complementary to that PT-green shade, either, but I've not been very imaginative all day, today.Occupational hazard of my occupation not being around (sorry Bubba)
hahahahah - you said "its an aesthetic issue"!!!!View Image
2-3 weeks of sun evens it right out.

I once saw a public boardwalk where every single plank was screwed down heart side down - they all cupped over time. Job security, I'm thinking. BTW, how could you be using pressure treated lumber for decking and be worried about how a stamp would spoil the looks?View Image
