I am getting ready to install hardwood flooring in my kitchen and need to remove the old linoleum and 1/4″ underlayment to get to the sub floor. For the major portion, I plan on using a circular saw to cut to the subfloor then pry off the pieces. But I need to cut right next to the kithen cabinets and this will be difficult especially where they are offset. I was planning on buying a Fein MultiMaster with a flush cut wood blade. Will this have enough cutting power for the job? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Interested in the responses here, as this is a job I've got coming up too. The catalogs seem to have some specialty tools for cutting flush under a toe kick. A little pricey for one job. I wonder if they can be rented?

Rich, I recently purchased this thing. Appears well made, real smooth. During kitchen remodel, worked great for sanding nooks/crannies. Was somewhat disappointed undercutting jambs and casing for flooring. Blade that came with it seems cheesy,(thin) and tended to distort and wander, maybe they make one that's beefier.
Would probably do what you want, but would be slow.
Possibly another concern would be asbestos that was used in older flooring. I'm no expert, but have seen prior posts to this effect. Maybe search archives.
