I have a large old brick house, most of which has many layers of old paint. I want to remove as much as I can and repaint because of the condition of the underlying brick. What may be the best way to remove this old paint without blowing all the mortar out of the joints? I had thought of trying a pressure washer, or possibly a large broom-type device with steel bristles and scraping it. I am sure some of the paint contains Lead, so I have to be mindful of the mess I might create. Thanks in advance.

There have been quite a few discussions in the past about this. Use the "search" feature and type in words that might work--like "paint on brick" and it should show you these old discussions.
