I need to remove 450 square feet of wood parquet tile glued to concrete. Any good, easy ways to do this? I plan to lay ceramic when finished.
Thanks

Wood parquet tile chips up easily (at least in my experience) with a flat chisel (not your good one) and the glue (also in my experience) usually comes up with it. 450 SF though is not a light job you want to undertake with a hand chisel or scraper. You can rent a tile chipper, the kind used to take up composition tile. It has a wide, vibrating blade that practically explodes the tile from the floor as you push it along. Do not confuse this with a demo hammer. This is a machine that looks something like a squat rectangular floor buffer, with wheels, but with the blade sticking out under the front. Have fun.
*If it is standard parquet adhesive then any remaining on the slab can be removed easily by wetting it with hot water, leaving it a while and then scraping it off
*& very hot water is best!
*definetley go with the vct vinyl composite tile chipper, i once did about 12,000 sq.f with one. it was much better than a scraper.
