Does anyone have experience with removing Permastone fror a residence?
I have the opportunity to purchase a 75 year old farm house that originally had wood siding. Several years ago someone decided to update the exterior with Permastone, the fake rock stuff, that is now deteriorating. At the very least, can I feasibly remove the stuff and replace with Hardiboard, since the original siding had the lath nailed to it prior to attaching the Permastone?

Just break out a piece near the top, get a long prybar in there, and pop the stones off. The lath should come with them if the stone was mortared on well, leaving you with a fresh surface ti start from.
We ripped around 300 SF off t he front of my parents' house years ago in a few hours.
