Just moved into a home, circa 1970, with a double-pane (not insulated glass) window. many units have a mini-blind between the panes. I am not able to locate a manufacturer’s name on the window.
Top panel has two routed out hand grips to lower panel. bottom panel has reasonably broad ~3.5 – 4 inch metal handle. The lock mechanism turns 180o and has the word lock’on a plate with a direction arrow. The vertical tracks are plastic. Quality is very good. I think I have seen similar hardware on Pella windows. I checked their web site without success.
Is the above description sufficient to identify the windows?
Question two:
several windows have broken cord for (I assume) the springs (I do not hear weights bumping if a panel if moved quickly). What material is suggested, and where can one obtain, replacement cord?
Question three:
any suggestions on the steps to replace the cord?
