I HAVE A SMALL JOB TO DO. THE CUSTOMER USES A WINDOW AIR CONDITIONER THAT EVIDENTLY LEAKS CONDENSATION WATER ON THE INSIDE OF THE HOUSE. THE WALLS HAVE A SKIM COAT OF PLASTER THAT SHOWS SOME DAMAGE. CAN ANYONE SUGGEST METHOD AND MATERIAL FOR THIS REPAIR ?

First things first. Before attempting wall repair be sure to redirect a/c drain.(setting unit at an angle towards the outside MAY be all that is required.) All the putty and paint aint gonna hold once the unit starts soaking the wall again.
As for the plaster repair, start by chipping out ALL of the loose damaged plaster. Fill area with a rough coat of plaster not drywall compound. If repair is going to take more than one coat I`d use some vinyl mesh over entirety of repair. Smoothcoat surface with either plaster or compuond. Sand smooth, prime with stain killer as any moisture that might remain in wall will bleed through.
Good Luck!

THANKS FOR THE HOW - TO. NOW I CAN GET STARTED !!! THANKS AGAIN.
I guess I might worry about Bin, or almost any paint, over fresh plaster. Sounds like kaboom to me.
I would lean towards Durabond for a quick patch, but I'm not there, and don't know half of what I should.
I use the hot mud types for a lot of (not deep) plaster repair, and sometimes I'll use finish coat plaster. I beleive it is the base coat plaster(with the sand in it) that has to cure a bunch before painting.
Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong!

Even a skim coat plaster has to cure before painting, but there are options.
