Repairing knockdown finish on drywall
Does anyone have any techniques for finishing small drywall repairs with a knockdown finish? I have bought those spray cans which promise to put a knockdown finish over my repairs, but it never even comes close to the surrounding areas, so it ends up looking unprofessional. I am from the east where you don’t see this type of knockdown finish and I have been trying to figure out a way to do this for two years without any success, and I would really appreciate any tips or techniques or procedures that would help. This is for areas that I have already repaired, I’m just trying to match the knockdown finish of the drywall. Thanks,
Frank

I asked the same thing in early August, here's the discussion:

Thanks, J.S. I think I'll go look in the yellow pages for a drywall guy, I can tell that this is going to take way too much time/money to learn how to do it myself.

Yellow pages might not be the best way to find someone who can do a good job of something as tricky as matching texture. Ask friends and neighbors for a recommendation. Tell us where you are, maybe somebody here can recommend someone.
Plumbers and electricians who do a lot of repairs on old work will know the best plaster and drywall guys for patching and matching. They're always making holes, and need somebody good to follow them.

Thanks, I'm in Las Vegas, anyone recommend someone for patching some drywall holes and matching the drywall finish, and touching up the paint? I've probably got enough holes to keep someone busy for a day. I sell the house on the 27th, so it has to be complete by then....
