My 1929 house had vinyl siding put on a few back by the previous owner. I have pulled it all off (hideous colors) and I am wrestling with putting vinyl back on or painting. One of the biggest problems is that they hacked off all the wood drip caps over the windows and doors. Also they cut the “ears” off the window sills to wrap them with aluminum. Any easy way to repair either of those items considering both are tied into the surounding siding? Help appreciated. Or any thoughts on making the new vinyl look appropriate on an old house?

Richard - Must be the season for vinyl removal. This issue came up quite recently - < Obsolete Link > click here for that discussion.

*Thanks Jeff, that is the info I was looking for. I am still not too sure about the drip cap, but I will figure something out.
