Hi,
I’m in the process of buying a home in South Windsor, CT
I had the septic system inspected by a local company. The gentleman conducting the inspection discovered a hole in the tank. He said the tank should be replaced. He did determine that the leaching fields appeared OK. I received a written report and accompanying digital photos from the company I hired.
After receiving my report of the deficiencies my inspectors discovered in their inspection, the owner has relayed the info to me that she had two companies tell her that the tank could be repaired. I have received no documentation from these companies.
I intend to call my lawyer Monday and have him handle this. There are no sewer lines in the street so that is not an option and I’ll have to wait until Monday to call the South Windsor sanation engineers to see if they have any suggestions.
It seems to me that if there is one hole in the tank then the entire tank and its integrity are suspect.
Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
Chuck

How bad do you want the house?

Sounds like something you would want to have resolved before you buy it.
Could be a good negotitating point in the purchase price of the house...............
unless it's a real hot market and someone else comes along and just takes it as is........
But at least you know about the problem.
