Can anyone give me a tip on replaceing sections of cedar stockade fence? The posts have been replace in the past and are in good shape and solid, (set in concrete). The rails however have rotted out where they go into the posts. Any ideas would be greatly apreciated.

How are the rails attached to the posts? Will you be replacing with stock pre-made sections?

Thank you for your response.
The ends of the rails are round, (dowel like}. They slide into holes in the posts. I intend to replace fenceing with pre-made sections.
I've done similar things by cutting the piece in two (near one end) with a diagonal cut (the flatter the angle the better), then gluing things back together after it's installed, using polyurethane glue and a few screws. Would be tricky making the cut on the prefab sections, though.

Thank you. That's something I hadn't thought of.
You could cut off the ends of the rails on one side, slide the uncut ends into the post, and attach the other side to the post with angle brackets.
Or you could cut an end off square and then splice it back together with repair plates (straight "angle brackets").
