replaceing an apartment furnace

How do I support the a/c coil and it’s housing when removing the old furnace?

    Fish some "holey strap" under it.  (I am sure there is a real name for it but everyone here calls it that)  Then nail it to the joists.  Or some nylon rope would work.  DanT

      "holey strap" sounds like what we call plumber's tape.  It's galvanized sheet steel, right?
