I am looking for a roofing product that is non-flammable, holds up to heavy snowfall, and looks something like cedar shakes. I need to replace fourteen cedar shake roofs in a historical district in the mountains. The Forest Service requires that we maintain the historical charactor of the buildings. We need the roofs to survive forest fire and heavy snow. Any ideas?

Slate, ceramic, or concrete shingles come to mind but the weight would be substantial. How about galvanized corrugated? I see a lot of that on barns?
