I have read Mike Guertin’s article about replacement windows in the recent (#185) FHB. Mike tells the reader when using the head expander, tap it in place and secure it. He also suggests that the void be filled with insulation, either foam or batt. My question is how does one get insulation into that void after it is secured in place. I can see how you could get batt in there ( compress it down then allow it to expand) but how would you get foam into that void?

When I did mine, on the windows that required the head expander, I drilled a hole large enough to get a window+door-type-foam straw into, but small enough, and located, to be covered with the inner stop at the top of the frame. Worked fine.
