I have been asked to replace some rotted wood around a house. Some of the wood (from the outside) is part of the window sill.
Any suggestions about the best way to remove the old and install the new without taking the window apart?

I've had some success doing this two different ways-
If only the outside edge is rotted, I'll cut that off and glue and fasten a new piece in it's place.
If the whole sill is rotted, I'll use a recip saw to cut it out in pieces, being careful not to cut the window jambs or interior stool. I then fit the new piece, and use construction adhesive to hold it in place, with a few well placed nails or screws to help.
I also like to prime all bare wood that's not going to be glued before I put everything back together.
