Reroofing with aluminum. Reinke Shakes?
I am just starting to reroof my house, and am doing it myself. I am opposed to asphalt shingles, and want a metal roof. I have samples from several makes, and have pretty much decided on Reinke Shakes brand aluminum shingles. They appear to be very sturdy and don’t pretend to be something that they are obviously not. They are just narrowly corrugated aluminum rectangles. I really don’t like stuff that tries to look like wood, as it looks like pretend wood. My question is, has anyone here installed these, have recommendations, cautions, or complaints? My only complaint is the high price, but I’ll get over that. I asked this on this message board earlier this year, but didn’t get much of a response. So I’m asking again before I order them this week.

40,000 Americans are injured by toilets each year.
I asked about metal roofing earlier and got little response too. Maybe you should say that Republicans hate metal roofs In the Woodshed Tavern and wait for the fireworks. At least you'd get a response.
I'm going to do my roof too. I've been impressed with the recycled plastic "slate" but they're $300.00 a square and you've gotta use expensive stainless steel nails. I swiped a dozen from a scrap heap on a job and stuck them under my asphalt to see what they'll look like. Very impressive and very expensive.
Many metal roof manufacturer's sell the idea of not having to tear off your existing shingles. No dump fees and just climb down at the end of the day, no tarping, no leaks.
