Hi
I am looking into using one of these pre-sloped floor shower systems – basically i am looking at either Schluter and Noble brands.
And I am wondering if anyone has had any hands on experience with these and might have anything good or bad to say about either brand….or the idea of the system in general.
Thank you so much in advance!

One vote schluter!
Nothing bad to say about the entire system.
Schluter's Kerdi system is great and really easy if you've done any trowel work at all.
Try an advanced search on Kerdi or Schluter.
Many long discussions...
Just finished putting in a Schluter with the tray. It was my first time and as a DYI'er it was easy and fast. They get my vote.
Never seen a shower on it side before.
How do you use it without falling out????
The odd part is I make my living in the film business and take hundreds of photos a week. I also work with Oscar wining Directors of Photography, who make a the ugliest actors look great.

So..... shrink down and rotate the photo already! :-)

Sorry it took so long. I had to wait till the visual effects crew came on the job. I work with photos everyday, but I'm so lame when it comes to the technology of changing them. I'm glad the visual effects guys can resize photos and put space ships and monsters in to films.
you got 192kb of X in the square...
no photo...

I wouldn't be telling everyone here how many hundreds of photos you take, ect.......

Why don't you ask for some help from Rez.

OHHHHH...now I understand.
The shower head & shower valve goes on the side, not the top!!!
thanks Jeff
Thanks, and Jeff too. I can't wait to get to work on Monday and give the effects guys some static,
Great looking job!
As a DIY, how did you prepare for doing the work? How much time invested in doing the research, the learning, practice, etc.? How much outlay for tools you might not use again for a while?
Why did you decide to go DIY, and not hire a pro?

Thanks Gene,I spent a lot of time on John Bridge and of course Breaktime. I spent about a month doing research and I also tiled a bath surround on my second floor bath first. The only expensive tool I invested in was a tile saw and even that was not to expensive. I got the Felker FTS 50. It looks like a small table saw. Now for the down side. It took about 4 months. Some weekends I would get up bright and early only to find out I had to go to my kids basketball game. I got very good at back buttering tile. I found out that putting a few tiles on any second I had time was the only way I was going to finish. I did hire a glass guy, I could never have done that.
The main reason I did it my self was money. I also like the satisfaction of doing things my self.
It was a gut job, new window with Azak trim. new plumbing for the shower (toilet and sink were Ok) Kerdi shower, Warmly Yours heating mat. Two nooks and granite for the curb cap and the door saddle. Total cost $8,500.00. Est. from the pros, $16,000-$20,000
Perfect! Now ditch the toilet toupee ;o)
I know, I know, but the DW wants it.
I've used Schluter and Wedi.
I prefer Schluter.
I converted one floor of a building to 11 apartments, I made the baths fairly uniform from one apt to the next and used Kerdi Trays in the showers. What a simple way to do 11 preslopes in one day.
Most single showers I used to do were custom sizes, so I did deck mud under Kerdi.
Schluter.
Go to John Bridge tile forum. He has a very good book too.
